More Blues and Gray

More Blues and Gray

Today I am posting some more pieces of jewelry that I recently completed using blue sea glass and gunmetal gray wire.

This is a set. It is going to be a gift for someone special.

This pair I created this Sunday afternoon while watching the Seahawks win the game  during the second half. GO HAWKS!

These are now for sale on Etsy.

Christmas Day Beach Walk

Christmas Day Beach Walk

Today is Christmas Day and we took a little drive out to First Beach, La Push  for a little walk to get some fresh air and a little exercise (and maybe find a treasure or two).
It was cloudy with a few seconds of sunshine now and then.  It wasn't rainy and and not too cold nor windy, so that makes it pretty nice for here.

This is how it looked on Christmas Day 2014 at First Beach in La Push WA

I even found  some nice pieces of sea glass. Here are a couple of the highlights.

Nothing brightens your heart like a bright green piece of sea glass.

This bright blue piece is a dandy.

What a find for Christmas Day!

Merry Christmas from Beach-n-Bling!

Beachcomber's Christmas Tree

Beachcomber's Christmas Tree

Today we just put up and decorated our unconventional Christmas tree.

The tree itself is a big tangle of net and driftwood that Jim found on the beach one day. He was so impressed with the size and complexity of it that he had to take it home.

We decorated it with lights and all sorts of plastic floats and other flotsam we thought would hang well as ornaments.

It was a lot of fun to create this installation made almost completely out of stuff we found washed ashore on the beach.

Sea Glass Christmas Tree Ornaments

Sea Glass Christmas Tree Ornaments

I've been keeping busy dedicating my efforts to the upcoming Christmas holiday season by making sea glass Christmas tree ornaments.
Customers at the last holiday bazaar were happy to purchase a handmade sea glass ornament for $5 a piece. Below are a couple pictures of the second batch of sea glass christmas tree ornaments. Last week I sold all but 3 from the first batch of 17 ornaments.

Keeping Busy in November

Keeping Busy in November

This month has kept me very busy with going to bazaars, making jewelry and experimenting with new materials and techniques.
Shown here are some of the things I made in the past couple of weeks.

The past few weeks I have been learning how to made cedar baskets. This is my third little basket. I made a necklace to go with it that has drilled green sea glass in it. Because it is a learning piece, it is very special to me and won't be for sale. I really enjoy making baskets.

This is a stacked sea glass pendant.

A Lovely Afternoon at the Beach

Great Beachcombing Weather, And a Little Sea Glass, Too

Yesterday afternoon we went on a walk at First Beach in La Push, WA.We had a clear sky and hardly any wind. It actually got to warm for us in the sun with all the winter clothing we were wearing. We quickly realized we were on the warm side of the "omega block" that is causing all the cold weather in the central and eastern U.S. And thats not a bad thing. Here are some pics of our walk.

Jewelry Display Boards

Jewelry Display Boards

In addition to making new jewelry I've been working on making jewelry display boards for quicker and easier display, transport and storage. Most of the jewelry you see on these boards are for sale on my Etsy shop.

The pendants on the bottom row are wire wrapped stones except for the one on the far right that is seaglass with an owl painted on it.

most of these earrings are for sale on Etsy

Most of these have images hand painted or hand drawn on them

Except for one small thing wrapped in copper every piece here is wrapped in sterling silver or Argentium
