Happy New Year from Beach-n-Bling

Happy New Year from Beach-n-Bling!

Although I've been posting on this blog for quite a while, some of you might be wondering

What is Beach-n-Bling?

Beach-n-Bling is the name of my small business that sells wire wrapped sea glass jewelry, hand painted beach stones, beach themed paintings, and beach combed items that have been transformed and repurposed into treasures.

Sea glass a.k.a. beach glass is discarded glass that has been exposed to the surf for many years. It has been tossed around in the waves and sand for so long that the sharp edges have been worn smooth and the surface is matt and translucent. The most common colors are white, brown, and green. Pale Blue to bluish green is also fairly common. Other colors such as cobalt blue, yellow, red are rare and a special find.

How Beach-n-Bling Began:

I moved to the Olympic Peninsula in 2007. That's in Washington State for those of you who may live in a different country.  I started hiking the beaches collecting smooth round beach stones to paint, and sometimes I found beautiful looking white or blue or green gems. At first I didn't know what it was. Then someone told me about  sea glass.

Finding sea glass brings me great joy. You could compare it to a kid finding an egg on an Easter egg hunt. I kept finding it and collecting it. Now I have jars full of it. After a year or so of collecting, I started wondering, what to do with all this beautiful beach glass. I wanted to share it with others, so I started learning how to make jewelry by watching ”you-tube” tutorials on the internet. I really enjoyed wire wrapping and  now I am hooked on it. I kept making more and more pendants. Then I started making earrings, bracelets , ornaments and dreamcatchers.

In spring 2012 I started going to the Forks Open Air market on Saturdays to sell my creations. People liked it and a some folks even bought it. Due to the nature of living in a rural area, I decided to set up an Etsy shop to be able to present and sell my creations to a wider audience. Now I am selling it at larger events such as the Beachcombers Fun Fair in Ocean Shores, WA and many more open air markets. All my products are made with love and inspired by nature.
My work is DESIGNED and HANDCRAFTED with love and enthusiasm IN THE USA
Please come and say hello to me at the Beachcombers Fun Fair on March 1 and 2.

Also, I'd really appreciate a like on my Facebook Page.
Thanks for visiting.
